Bartlesville is located in northeast Oklahoma about 47 mile north of Tulsa near the Kansas border. It serves as the county seat for Washington County and has a population of about 35,000 residents. A part of the city lies within Osage County. One of the main attractions in Bartlesville is Price Tower, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, which stands in the downtown area. The city is host to several special events and festivals each year. The OK Mozart International Festival is a week-long music event that takes place each June. The festival features performances of classical, jazz, light opera and more by world-renowned musicians. Sunfest is three festivals scheduled the first weekend of June: an arts and crafts show and music festival in Sooner Park, a classic car show in Johnstone Park, and a biplane show at the Bartlesville Airport. There is a second classic air show and festival in the fall and an Indian Summer Festival, also held each fall. A youth concert venue called The Wherehouse hosts Christian rock and alternative rock bands several times a month. A working ranch/museum is located 10 miles southwest of Bartlesville on 3,700 acres. It contains an extensive collection of Native American, western and fine art and one of the most complete private collections of Colt firearms in the world. The museum is located on the property and former home of Frank Phillips. Also on the property are the Phillip's family lodge and mausoleum along with a large wildlife preserve which is home to herds of American Bison, Elk, Water Buffalo, Texas Longhorn Cattle and more.
